HTC Flyer tablet works with pen or finger

BARCELONA

SMARTPHONE maker HTC is showing off a tablet computer that can be used either with a finger or with a battery-powered “pen” for drawing and note-taking.

The Taiwanese company demonstrated the HTC Flyer tablet at the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona on Tuesday. It said the tablet will go on sale in the second quarter, but did not announce a price.

Tablets that work with stylus pens have been around for years, but the recent crop, inspired by Apple’s iPad, permit entries to be made with a finger.

The Flyer has a 7-inch screen, half the size of the iPad’s.HTC also said it will sell two phones through AT&T that feature a “Facebook button” that will let users upload photos or share Web pages with one push.
