FANS of Samsung's Galaxy series, meet the new members of the family.

Earlier this week, Samsung acquainted us with the latest additions to its smartphone and tablet line-up - most notably the Galaxy S II smartphone and Galaxy Tab 10.1.

The slim Galaxy S II - just 8.49mm thick despite its 4.27-inch display- runs on Google's Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), and boasts an improved user interface and better power management compared with older versions.

Weighing in at 599g and sporting a 10.1-inch screen, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is powered by Android 3.0 (Honeycomb), which has been designed specifically for tablets.

Both devices have a 1GHz dual-core processor and come with 16GB or 32GB of memory. They each have an 8-megapixel autofocus camera with flash as well as a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and share the ability to record and playback high-definition videos at 1080p.

The pricing and availability details for both products have not been released yet. May Chua
