Great camera for baby photos

FUJIFILM’S proprietary EXR technology allows its compact digital cameras to stand out from their many rivals in a crowded market.

The new EXR has a hybrid auto-focus system: When a brightly- lit subject is in the centre of the frame, its Phase Detection AF can gain focus in as fast as 0.158sec (roughly the time needed to blink an eye). For darker scenes, Contrast AF takes over.

The F300EXR has 15x optical zoom (equivalent to 24mm-360mm) and comes with a new feature: Auto Release for baby photography, meant for tricky shots of fidgeting babies. Facedetection technology can recognise and trigger the shot as soon as the subject looks at the lens.

The camera works quickly when used with flash, almost as fast as DSLRs, addressing a common problem with compact digitals, which tend to recharge their flash slowly.
