The new Sony Pocket Style Vaio P weighs just 618g, and is a gadget that's designed to be more compact than a standard notebook and smarter than a smartphone.

Its built-in accelerometer enables you to shake the device to "flick" through pictures or pages from a PDF document, as well as view documents and web pages in portrait mode.

Through its Web button, you can get online without booting up the Windows operating system. This netbook supports the wireless-N format, giving you faster file transfers, wider ranges and more reliable Internet connections.

To save power and preserve your eyesight, the P series' ambient light sensor adjusts the brightness of the 8-inch screen based on the environment.

The Vaio P comes in four luscious colours - black, white, pink and orange.
