Businesses and small/home offices usually do not turn off multi-functional printers (MFPs) - mid-sized devices that print, scan, copy and fax - as they'd want to receive a fax the very moment it comes in. So how do they save energy?
HP's solution - the Laserjet Pro M1212NF, which is smart enough to turn itself off and catch a snooze when not on active duty. Users can set a predetermined time each day, or when the printer senses no activity after a set interval.
While in sleep mode, it uses less than one watt of energy. Users can decide on the types of interactions that will awaken the M1212NF, such as print requests and incoming faxes. The fewer activities selected, the more resources saved.
For a multi-functional device, set-up is simple. You can begin printing in two minutes by connecting a computer to the printer using a USB cable - no CD required.
