The world's first gaming smartphone, the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY, will be available exclusively with SingTel from today. The phone will also be available in black and white at Sony Ericsson concept stores at S$888. Xperia Play a handy phone for gamers

THE Xperia Play is one mobile phone gamers would take to. It has a slide-out game-pad with a digital D pad, two analogue touch pads, two shoulder buttons and the four Playstation icons. The phone can access Playstation game content via Playstation Suite.

As a phone, the Xperia Play is an Android device (Version 2.3) and can do all the things Android phones are capable of, including accessing the Android Marketplace.

It is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera and a 4-inch touchscreen. How much: To be launched in selected markets from next month.
