The F800's 20x optical zoom - equivalent to a 25-500mm wide angle telephoto lens - is remarkably versatile. This long range is especially useful for travellers.
The lens' Super Macro feature let the camera focus effectively even at a distance of only 2 cm from the subject, which is great for macro photographers who prefer to get up close to the subject.
Squeezing all of these abilities into a small package does however have its sacrifices. Images shot at the wide end of the lens show barrel distortion - where an image appears mapped around a sphere.
But what got my attention was its ability to transfer photos to an iPhone or Android device via Wi-fi, making it easier to share photos immediately. The camera also offers the option to resize images for social networks.
Transferring photos to my Android device was a breeze - simply download the free Fujifilm Photo Receiver application onto your mobile device and pick which photos to sync with your phone, or choose to send all. However, the camera can only transfer 30 images at a time with the batch transfer.
The Fujifilm F800 is a small yet powerful camera and it is a great camera to have with you, especially on-the-go.
Other features of the Fujifilm F800 EXR's include a 16-megapixel EXR-CMOS Sensor, continuous shooting at a burst frame rate of 8 frames per second (fps) for full-resolution shots, and 11 fps at reduced resolution.
The Fujifilm F800 EXR's availability and pricing has yet to be announced.
