Razer TRON Gaming MouseADMIT it. If you're a Tron fan, you're most likely a geek. So it make sense that a slew of Tron gadgets, such as Razer's Tron Gaming Mouse and Mat, have followed in the wake of the movie.

The Tron Gaming Mouse is equipped with seven customisable buttons, 2.1-metre braided cable and a 5600dpi 3.5G laser sensor, which means this mouse is seven times faster than your normal optical mouse.

The mouse comes in a cool stealthy black ambidextrous design with Tron-inspired luminescent blue lines running along its glossy top. The side buttons are readily accessible on both sides of the mouse. Since it is a symmetrical design, it is a lefty-friendly mouse too.

Razer TRON Gaming Mouse and Mousepad BundleWhen you plug it in, the Tron-licensed "Rez & De-Rez" sound effects and illuminating blue glow will immediately put a smile on that geeky face of yours.

With the mouse drivers, you can assign all the buttons and scroll wheel to perform any function you desire the button, from changing sensitivity on the fly to assigning gaming macros. However, as of press time there are only Windows drivers - no Mac OS X drivers.

The Tron Gaming Mat matches the Tron gaming mouse in both looks and precision. Wielding the mouse on this hard gaming mat means your cursor stops precisely where you want it to stop.

Switch off the lights and the gaming mat actually glows a faint blue. Swipe the Tron Gaming Mouse over it and it leaves a bioluminescent trail on the mat. Cheap thrill, you say? Maybe - but it's still awesome. Not that you'll have time to stop and admire it during a gaming session.

I played a host of games - from first-person shooter Call Of Duty: Black Ops to turn-based strategy game Civilisation V - with the Tron mouse on the Tron mat, and the experience was impeccable, with precise aim and movements.

However, I found using the mouse tired my palm after a while, as I prefer to rest my palm on the mouse's tail (aka the palm grip). The Tron mouse is slightly smaller and shorter than Razer's other top-notch gaming mice such as Lachesis, so it is more suitable for gamers who prefer a claw or fingertip mouse grip.

At $199.90, the Razer Tron Gaming Mouse and Mat bundle is certainly not cheap. Nevertheless, the performance and looks of this duo would probably be worth every cent to died-in-the-wool Tron fanatics.

Now if you'd excuse me, I'm busy admiring the glowing trails my mouse is making.
